This is a world heritage site that dates back to the 4th century BC and was used as a burial site by the Ptolemy dynasty for the wealthy aristocracy. The entrance fee is excellent value at less than £1. The site is a very important archaeological site and continues to be excavated and developed. Be sure to take plenty of water, sun screen and hats.
